Have you ever met or known someone who has the same name as you (first and last) but is not a relative?

View 501 Answers

Yes, it would be very hard not to. I believe there was one in my secondary school, and I met several along the way. That is with both my first and last name. I have met countless people who have one or the other also.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I'm off to New York in the morning, so I should really make tracks towards my bed! I'm going with my Mom, my Aunt, my sister and my 4 cousins (all female). And my other sister is coming up from South Carolina for 3 days. Actually, she's there already and has been to Macy's. I am jealous! She apparently fell in love with a necklace, and then discovered it cost $17,000! Hehe.

At least i've got my bag packed, which is unusual for me, I'm a last minute kinda gal :)

Happy New Year to all (a few days early I know, but I will have pretty limited internet access for the next week, but I'm not too bothered :)

End of Year Meme taken from Nycelle, had to do it, a bit of fun:) )

So I've decided to move away from the whole Livejournal set-up, I think the shine is gone off it for me. I am going to be keeping another blog though, it's at talkonrachel.blogspot.com if any of you are interested in keeping up to date with what I'm up to.

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Ok, so I know it's not unusual for me not to post for a week or 2 but this time I was actually away! Went to France on Saturday, came back last night. Was a glorious few days of relaxing, gorgeous sunshine and a whole week off work! Gotta go to work tomorrow though so i gotta drive down to Dungarvan this evening. Ah well.

My horoscope tells me that tomorrow is going to be a good day for me, so time will tell!

stolen from [info]icklephantom. No Surprises there then......

So I'm in bed, have been sick all day. I managed nearly 5 hours of work, and then there was puking, so I went home to sleep. Feeling a bit crappy now. I've managed two slices of toast so far this evening. So far it's staying down.

Ah well.

If you post a comment I'll

1) Tell you why I friended you
2) Associate you with a song/movie
3) Tell a random fact about you
4) Tell a first memory about you
5) Associate you with an animal/fruit
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you

So, update on plans from earlier entry. I am now in Limerick. I got dressed and went to have breakfast, only to discover that someone had left my milk out on the counter, and it was sour, so no cereal for me, so I ate a cereal bar in the car.

I drove to Cork, only to discover that the tunnel I have to go through to get to the shopping centre was closed, so I had to take a different exit off the roundabout, ended up not really knowing where i was, so I rang my mom, discovered I was already on the Limerick road, so I figured, hell, I might as well.

Also, about 5 minutes after I decided i was going home, i heard on the radio that the tunnel was open again, but at that stage i was too pissed off and couldn't have been bothered turning around.

You see, this is why i shouldn't listen to 2fm. Not once in the hour it took me to get to Cork did they mention anything about the Jack Lynch tunnel being closed. I switched to Today fm, and I must have heard about 4 updates in 20 minutes. Grr.

Well, it's Saturday again, so no prizes for guessing where I am at this hour of the morning! I honestly didn't have any trouble getting up this morning, which is good. I had some weird dreams, and my clock radio magically ended up being 4 hours ahead when i got up. What I was doing I don't have a clue! I must've changed the time when I was changing the alarm? Either that or i did it in my sleep. Hmm. Ah well, I got up, stopped panicking when i realised it wasn't actually 10 o clock and I wasn't actually 3 hours late for work.

I'm driving home to Limerick after word, hence why I'm here so early (was in at 7). I don't like driving in the dark. It's not a fun thing to do, so if I leave here at half 2, then I can be home before 5, depending on traffic.

I can't wait to see my nephew (I must be the saddest person in the world). My mom gave her phone to him yesterday and he kept saying RARA RARA RARA down the phone and kissing the phone!! And he's getting his first pair of shoes today!!! Lou asked me to come with, but obviously I'm in work, so not really an option!

I had a fairly good week to be honest. And the weeks are flying by. This is the end of the third week already! Soon we'll all be worrying about what to buy so and so for Christmas again! I can't bloody wait! Mostly because my mom, my aunt and I have booked flights to New York for the first week in December. I'm all excited already!! I suppose I have to have something to look forward to!

Anywho, I must organise a trip to Dublin at some stage. So many people I haven't seen in far too long! Of course, ye could always come to Dungarvan....or maybe not...

So I gotta go do some work,

MWAH!!

You know, there's one thing that I miss. Warm feet.

So, it's the weekend, finally. Have been in a crap mood all week, but normality seems to be returning, slowly but surely. The girl hormones don't help. They turn me into one big quivering emotional trainwreck, meaning rachel jumped the tracks a few miles back and is nowhere to be found.

Anywho, the world is an ironic (or maybe just plain cruel?) place. For various reasons. Mostly for conspiring to ruin my best laid plans.

At the moment I'm still at home with my parents, which honestly I'm really enjoying, but there've been a few things really getting my goat recently. I'm not going to elaborate here, but let's just say there are a few things i would love to be able to get rid of with a click of the fingers.

I get angry and want to punch things, and that's not particularly healthy. I'm too nice to say what I mean. I lie and just gloss over the real issue, when really all I want to do is scream and yell and let the world know that I will not take shit from anyone, and if I want something then my wishes better bloody well be honoured.

Anyway, today I bought a big tv and a dvd player, and yesterday I went clothes shopping with my mom and i bought some cords and 2 tops, one of which would have been 151 euro at full price! I've never been able to go out and just hand over the card and not worry about it before. I like the feeling! Thinking about buying a PS2 tomorrow. Have wanted one for years but could never afford one. Now I can, I think I'll make the investment!

Anyway,
I should probably go to bed soon.
Supposed to be going to the cinema tomorrow afternoon with my friend Sam (and her boyfriend-yay) but I looked up the film she suggested and I don't think I'd enjoy it. Not big with the thrillers. You never know, I might be lucky and get my own way.

night.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is all.

4 wing mirrors broken on the cars outside our house (in Limerick) in the last few weeks. 3 of them last night. My brother saw them do it both times. he also called the gardaĆ and they never came out. Getting a little bit sick of this. not sure I want to drive my car home for Christmas if that's what's going to happen to it.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Monday on a flight to LA, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). Last month I farted in an elevator (-6 points). Last Friday I gave [info]icklephantom a kidney (1000 points). Last Wednesday I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points). Last Tuesday I helped [info]thegom hide a body (-173 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1107 points). For Christmas I deserve a new dolly!

Sincerely,

So, I was rudely awakened this morning by a phone call at half past 2. It was my housemate, drunk, outside the door, and she couldn't find her keys. Although by the time i got downstairs 20 seconds later they had found a key and were drinking beer and laughing loudly. So I'm tired.

But it doesn't bother me that much. Really i wish i'd been able to go out with them, instead of having to leave the house at half 6 to go to work :(

Ah well.

only another 7 hours left.
